Proficient English reading correlates to numerous successes in and out of the classroom. Yet, proficient reading is still an unattained goal for many individuals around the world. Fortunately, from a collation of research across multiple disciplines we know that teaching and learning practices grounded in the science of reading can mitigate reading difficulties and lay the foundation for future success. How can those practices, however, be leveraged in an era of distance learning?

As an experienced U.S. educator and literacy specialist, Jennifer believes in the expertise of the teacher and the power of literacy and language. In her role as Director-International Academics and Curriculum, Jennifer’s mission is to empower educators around the world with the knowledge, resources, and research that can help every student reach their fullest potential. Jennifer is currently earning her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction – Literacy from Kent State University.
